Tricon Residential

The Challenge

Tricon Residential is a division of Tricon, a publicly traded real estate development firm based in Toronto, Canada. Our task for Tricon Residential is to help the firm achieve its business goals and increase credibility with business partners, employees, and communities in California and Texas, where the company is investing in more than 30 new build-to-rent single-family home communities totaling more than 3,000 new homes.

Our Solution

Pike and Company designed a local, regional, and national media relations campaign that included a comprehensive press kit and customized media lists for Tricon Residential. We capitalized on important milestones to garner news coverage of the new communities Tricon was building in key markets. Additionally, we created an onsite event template to implement at each construction site in order to attract key stakeholders, build relationships with local community leaders, and leverage both local and national trade media coverage. We designed and implemented robust pop-up events where we secured attendance from government officials in coordination with Tricon’s partners in Northern and Southern California, Houston, and Dallas.

The Results

In just a few months, Pike and Company has already managed groundbreaking events and local media relations in the first eight of 30 new communities throughout California and Texas.  For each market, we have initiated relationships with important government officials, business leaders, and stakeholders and secured their attendance at community groundbreaking events. Our media outreach has generated feature articles in dozens of influential local, business, and real estate media outlets, including the Houston Chronicle, Orange County Register, Multi-Housing News, Connect CRE, San Antonio Business Journal, Austin Business Journal, Houston Business Journal, and more.
